Winning a championship using VBT in a small school setting

Recently, I had the opportunity to talk about how I used Velocity Based Training (specifically, with GymAware) as a one stop shop within my performance training practice. I covered how I use it in the following areas:

Fatigue monitoring & daily readiness

Long term tracking of performance

Full spectrum of programming

  • speed-strength

  • strength-speed

  • accelerative strength

  • maximum strength

Use of both olympic lifts and strength lifts

Augmented feedback & motivation

Force-velocity profiling (and 1RM estimation/tracking)


Additionally, I went into how I scale the program and create a system that accounts for playing positions and playing time (starters, dressers, non-dressers)
